Bilateral Agreement

  • Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on protection in cases of natural or other disasters, signed on June 21st 2001.
  • Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Montenegro on protection in cases of natural or other disasters, signed on September 7th 2007.
  • Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on protection in cases of natural or other disasters, signed on March 20th 2008.
  • Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on protection in cases of natural or other disasters, signed on December 13th 2010.
  • Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italian National Agency FORMEZ, signed on November 2nd 2004.
  • Memorandum of Understanding in the area of protection and rescue of people and assets in cases of natural and other disasters between the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Danish Emergency Management Agency – DEMA, signed on November 15th 2006.
  • Memorandum on Intention of Cooperation in the area of natural and other disasters prevention and relief between competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Serbia and Montenegro, signed on October 16th 2009.
  • Memorandum on Understanding in the area of Disaster Management between competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Turkey signed on March 29th 2011.
  • Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on protection in cases of natural or other disasters

Regional agreements 30th September 2011

  • Agreement on Cooperation in the Forecasting, Prevention, and Mitigation of Natural and Technological Disasters between the Governments of Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Slovenia, signed on June 18th 1992. BiH acceded later.
  • Agreement regarding the forming of the Civil-Military Emergency Planning Council for South Eastern Europe. Signed on April 3th 2001, with later accessions. Ratified by Bulgaria, Croatia, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Romania. BiH participated.
  • Declaration on cooperation in disaster preparedness and prevention in south-eastern Europe, signed on June 5th 2002.
  • Memorandum on Institutional Framework for Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Initiative in South East Europe, signed in September 2007.
  • BiH has also multilateral agreements in several organizations like SECI (Southeast European Cooperative Initiative), SEDM (Southeast Europe Defence Ministerial), Stability Pact, The South Eastern and Eastern Europe Clearinghouse for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SEESAC), SEECP (South-East European Cooperation Process), Adriatic Charter (a group of NATO aspirants formed in 2003 under a US initiative), SEEGROUP (South East Europe Security Cooperation Steering Group).
  • International Telecommunication Union (ITU): Tampere Convention on the provision of telecommunication resources for disaster mitigation and relief operations, signed on 18 June 1998, ratified 09. 03. 2004.
  • UN OPCW: Convention on prohibition of developing, production, storage and usage of chemical weapons and its destruction, signed 13. January 1993, ratified 27.12.1996.
  • International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA): Convention on the Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident, signed Vienna, 26.November 1986, ratified in 1994.
  • International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA): Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency. UNTS 24643, signed with reservation: 26. November 1986, ratified in 1994.
  • United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)– Regional Seas Programme : Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution. (The Barcelona Convention) Barcelona, 16. February 1976. Protocol concerning cooperation in combating pollution of the Mediterranean Sea by oil and other harmful substances in cases of emergency.
